Quote of the day -17-

"I have a history of making decisions very quickly about men. I have always fallen in love fast and without measuring risks. I have a tendency not only to see the best in everyone, but to assume that everyone is emotionally capable of reaching his highest potential. I have fallen in love more times than I care to count with the highest potential of a man, rather than with the man himself, and I have hung on to the relationship for a long time (sometimes far too long) waiting for the man to ascend to his own greatness. Many times in romance I have been a victim of my own optimism."
Elizabeth Gilbert (Eat, Pray, Love: One Woman's Search for Everything Across Italy, India and Indonesia)

The Notebook

Noah: Would you just stay with me?
Allie: Stay with you? What for? Look at us, we're already fighting.
Noah: Well that's what we do, we fight. You tell me when I am being an arrogant son of a bitch and I tell you when you are a pain in the ass. Which you are, 99% of the time. I'm not afraid to hurt your feelings. You have like a 2 second rebound rate, then you're back doing the next pain-in-the-ass thing.
Allie: So what?
Noah: So it's not gonna be easy. It's gonna be really hard. We're gonna have to work at this every day, but I want to do that because I want you. I want all of you, for ever, you and me, every day. Will you do something for me, please? Just picture your life for me? 30 years from now, 40 years from now? What's it look like? If it's with him, go. Go! I lost you once, I think I can do it again. If I thought that's what you really wanted. But don't you take the easy way out.
Allie: What easy way? There is no easy way, no matter what I do, somebody gets hurt.
Noah: Would you stop thinking about what everyone wants? Stop thinking about what I want, what he wants, what your parents want. What do you want?!

Pages From My Diary -01-

Since spring started, Teddy's been freaking out so often from the noises of the wind and God knows what else!
He’s been spending all his days and nights hiding and shaking. And no matter what we try to do to calm him down and make him feel secure, we miserably fail.
Yesterday at dawn, Teddy showed up and sat with me in the room uncertain if he’s doing the right thing. When I got up and headed to the kitchen, he came after me, I only noticed when he wrapped his tail against my legs over and over. I kept moving from my room to the kitchen and he unlikely kept following me here and there. And finally when I sat down, he rested in front of me observing my next move. I couldn’t help it, so I rested beside him on the floor and started to stroke and play with him.
I know that all of this sound pretty normal, but that’s not the way Teddy is. He’s the kind of cat that likes to be left alone most of the time, that doesn’t like to be touched much. His fear of people, noises, even cats sometimes makes him the most unsociable cat I’ve ever seen.
Yesterday was unusual of him. It made me feel that even though he’s always not around, he’s always pulling away, he’s always hiding and wants to be left alone, all of this attitude has been always out of fear which he can’t control, maybe he’s too weak to control it, but after all he’s a cat which would make him at this point almost helpless.
Yesterday he wanted my company and was dying for me to play with him. He needed my affection and passion, he needed lots of feelings he’s been missing coz he’s always alone.
I was dying to sleep, but never wanted to leave him alone at this moment. I stayed with him till as expected some loud wind blew, and he was all freaked out again and took off running for some place to hide.

Marley & Me

"A dog has no use for fancy cars, big homes, or designer clothes. A water log stick will do just fine.
A dog doesn't care if your rich or poor, clever or dull, smart or dumb. Give him your heart and he'll give you his.
How many people can you say that about?

How many people can make you feel rare and pure and special?

How many people can make you feel extraordinary?
"

Pan's Labyrinth

----The story of a young girl who travels with her pregnant mother to live with her mother's new husband in a rural area up North in Spain, 1944. The girl lives in an imaginary world of her own creation and faces the real world with much chagrin.----

A very sweet movie :))

The Road Not Taken

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference."

Robert Frost

Dedicated to Noon : (whenever i read the last couple of lines of this poem anywhere i remember you, and i remember the quotes u wrote in ur notes...and the doctor as well who left u comments) (^^,)

Say It With a Kiss - Billie Holiday

Let me hear you say it
Say it with a kiss
If you mean that look I've seen
Say it with a kiss
There is wine and candle shine
And music in your lips
Music in the tops
Of your fingertips
Words may not convey it
Say it with a kiss
And your look might speak a book
That my eyes might miss
You dont have to know the words
To love's familiar tune
Say it with a kiss
And say it soon

Roman Holiday

Did you know that the "Roman Holiday"(1958), is the original American movie version of film "Youm men 3omri" (1960) :D ?
I just happened to know that a couple of days ago while watching the movie, almost the same except that this one got a better ending.

The Valkyries

"Faith is a difficult conquest, and it requires daily combat in order to be maintained."
...........
"One had only to believe that angels exist, only to need the angels.
And they would show themselves, as brilliant as the rays of morning.
And they would help, performing their task of protection and guidance, so that each generation would speak to the next of their presence - so that they would never be forgotten."

Even though i didn't really enjoy this book as much as i enjoyed Veronika decides to die, The devil and Mrs Prym, and The Alchemist, still you can never read something for Paulo Coelho without feeling that you've been to some inspiring journey :))

Quote of the day -16-

"I believe in pink. I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner. I believe in kissing, kissing a lot. I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day and I believe in miracles."
Audrey Hepburn

The Five People You Meet in Heaven

How do people choose their final words?
Do they realize their gravity?
Are they fated to be wise?

By his 83rd birthday, Eddie had lost nearly everyone he'd cared about. Some had died young, and some had been given a chance to grow old before a disease or an accident took them away. At their funerals, Eddie listened as mourners recalled their final conversations. "It's as if he knew he was going to die . . . . " some would say.

Eddie never believed that. As far as he could tell, when your time came, it came, and that was that. You might say something smart on your way out, but you might just as easily say something stupid.
For the record, Eddie's final words would be "Get back!"
